If you decide to experience desert life in a Moroccan desert camp, you will be given two options during one of our Morocco desert tours: standard and luxury desert camps. As a result, it is understandable that you will have questions about the location, price, tent type, food quality, and activities available. There are significant differences between standard and luxury camping. Having said that, some luxury camps, despite their name, are not truly luxury, but rather a transition between standard and luxury. When upgrading to a luxury desert camp, make an informed decision. The most important consideration is how far you are into the desert dunes and whether or not other camps are nearby. Many luxury camps in Erg Chebbi are near a dirt road or a village, and standard camps are frequently too close together. From one camp to the other, music can be heard.

Typical tents are made of black wool, with carpets or blankets covering the floor and some form of bedding inside. Because some camps have beds, it could simply be a mattress. Because blankets and pillows are provided, there is no need to bring a sleeping bag.

Luxury tents are larger, some quite large, and include proper bedding as well as some furniture depending on the luxury camp, which can range from very basic to nicely appointed staff.

There are no built facilities in standard camps. They may have a basic restaurant set up as a dining tent, but for the most part, meals are served around a campfire. They are set up for one night only, with clients arriving in the evening and departing the next morning.

Luxury camps can have the same basic amenities as standard camps. Others, on the other hand, provide numerous relaxation areas throughout the camp, including cushions, salons, and sun loungers. They usually have dining establishments, and some may even have a kitchen on the premises. They are ideal for stays of two nights or more.
