Good To Know:

  • The 3-day desert tour from Marrakech to Fes includes a lot of driving and being in the car more than visiting, especially on the last day from Merzouga to Fes. We highly recommend booking a 4 to 6-day trip if you have enough time in Morocco.
  • There is a chance to miss the sunset, sunrise, or part of the camel excursion due to bad weather (rain or sand storm).
  • Camel trekking is not recommended for people over the age of 70, with back injuries, and pregnant women.
  • Riding camels for more than one hour might not be comfortable.
  • During peak season, you may have lunch at touristy restaurants along the road.
  • We also offer a 3-day journey that begins and ends in Marrakech; for more information, check the Marrakech to Merzouga 3-day desert tour page.

Best Destinations:

  1. Tizi-n-Tichka: We’ll go across Tizi-n-Tichka, a mountain pass between Marrakesh and Ouarzazate in southern Morocco. Short breaks are made at Tizi n Tichka to soak in the amazing mountain views, which include snow during the colder months (Between November and March).
  2. Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou: You’ll have the chance to visit and walk through Ait Ben Haddou’s famous mud village. This Kasbah has been featured in a number of well-known films.
  3. Ouarzazate: A well-known filmmaking location, which has attracted various foreign production companies to shoot there. Kundun, The Hills Have Eyes, Salmon Fishing in Yemen, and a lot more other films were shot here. Visitors can enter and visit one of the film studios for an extra fee.
  4. Skoura: One of the largest and oldest Oasis in Morocco’s southern region, where we will pass by during the tour.
  5. Kalaat Mgouna (Roses Valley): Roses bloom in the valley only in the spring, and if your trip is in April-May, you may have the opportunity to attend The Roses Festival, which takes place in Kelâat M’Gouna every year and lasts seven days to commemorate the rose season.
  6. Dades: The first night of the journey will be spent in the Dades Valley area, which has a beautiful landscape and unique rock formations. The river makes the valley lush and verdant, whereas the surrounding region is a stony desert.
  7. Todra Gorges: A short walk into this amazing 600-meter-high canyon is included on the tour.
  8. Tenghir: A great place where we will stop and enjoy the panoramic views of a magnificent Oasis
  9. Merzouga (Erg Chebbi): It is known as the best Moroccan desert due to its high dunes and unique sand color.

Extra Activities:

    • ATV (Quad Bikes): An ATV tour into the dunes, which costs 45 Euros per person for an hour, is one of the most entertaining and adventurous excursions to add to your desert trip.
    • Dune Buggy: Driving a Buggy over the dunes is without a doubt one of the most popular adventurous activities in Merzouga. The extra fee for the one-hour tour is 75 Euros per person.

The desert adventure

We traveled around Morocco with our guide, Hamid. We drank camel milk and ate with a nomade family in the desert. We also passed through several berber towns that specialized in making ceramics and carpets, so we came home with some helpful gifts. Thanks alot to Ali, without whom we would not have been able to have as much fun as we did! A native with a good sense of humour and patience, a guide that everyone wishes for ;)

The highlight of our trip to Morocco

This trip was one of the best decisions I've made so far in my life. Hassan took care of our 3-day trip to the desert, which turned to be the highlight of our trip to Morocco. We had the chance to have Said as the driver, and he was not only professional but also very informative. He provided us with a plenty of information about the Moroccan culture and history. We can't recommend this company enough for a hassle-free and a great experience.

Luxury 3-day Sahara trip to Fes

I used this company for our luxury 3-day trip to Fes via the Sahara, and we weren't disappointed. The driver/guide, Said, was so kind. The hotel in Dades, and the desert camp in Merzouga were clean, comfortable, and with welcoming and helpful staff. If you are thinking of booking this tour, I'd recommend the 4-day version instead. The 3-day tour includes a lot of driving on the last day from Merzouga desert to Fes.
